Langtang Gosaikunda Region Treks

Lantang is a narrow valley that lies just south North of the Tibet border from Kathmandu. It is nearest from Kathmandu. It is sandwiched between the main Himalayan range to the north and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks Langtang Lirung (7246m.) to the north Gangchhenpo (6388m.). The season for Langtang, Gosaikund and Helambu is generally the same a in the rest of Nepal. For Langtang trek, 6 -8 hours drive from Ktm- Dhunche or Syabrubesi. You will entry from Dhunche Langtang National park. The trek both possible Lodge trek or full equipped Camping trek. There are good Lodges management, but can not find Japanese foods for Japanese tourists. There available American Europeans and local foods. Normally Every day walk 4 – 5 hrs slowly pas during trekking below 3000m. elevation, then above shorter walk for acclimatize. Some day taking rest at good view place. There important Wildlife Flora & Fauna area is protected by Langtang National park since 1976.

You can trek to Gosaikund on the way returning to Kathmandu via the holy lakes of Gosaikund and cross the Gosaikund pass 4460m. and exit at Sundarijal near Kathmandu. Or you can make short trek from Dhunche. Thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit the Gosaikund lakes during a full-moon festival in August. The Lake is also sacred to Buddhists.

The language, culture and dress of the Helambu Sherpas are very different from those of the Solu Khumbu and Shankhuwasabha ( Makalu) region Sherpas. Actually the “Sherpa” means East people of Nepal. The origin name is “ Syarba”or Serwa. It is changed to Sherpa family name later. Which is one of Nepal ethnic group cast. You can include Helambu in Gosaikund & Lantang trek.
